What is Natural Health?
Let’s find YOUR definition or sweet spot. Like so many other things in life, health is a way of life — your life process to be able to achieve all the things you want — whether that’s material success, relationship success or skill set success.
No matter what you desire, your physical body must be all that it can be in terms of health and balance, so you can achieve your life’s purpose.
What does your life’s purpose have to do with natural health? Well, Everything! Your physical, mental and emotional/spiritual states are inexorably linked. You can’t have one without the others.
A physical malady can have great effect on our emotional and mental health. One Christmas I was struck with a debilitating intestinal bug. Besides the weakness of the disease and not being able to eat, I became severely depressed. I kept thinking that it really wouldn’t matter to anyone if I just died. That severe depression lasted until my body recovered. It was just a few days, but showed me how vital my physical well-being was to my mental and emotional health.
What’s your idea of living healthy naturally?
Start with one thing — make it a daily habit then go on to the next thing on your list.
Here are some possibilities:
Exercise daily — for women, alternate ‘workout’ days with long walks or yoga
Wake up without an alarm
Sleep your optimum night’s rest
Spend time with loved ones
Learn something new
Laugh
Enhance your skills with practice or lessons
Create — draw, color, sing, write
Build something lasting — a bat or bird house
Build something fleeting — ice or sand sculpture, garden
Meditate
Serve others
Watch trees dance with the wind
Harvest your labors
Eliminate one unhealthy food
Give others what they need
Smile at those you don’t know or don’t like
Pet your cat or dog or horse
Forgive someone
Admire your neighbor’s lawn or garden and thank them for it
If you are less than physically, mentally or emotionally healthy, research herbs, homeopathics, body work, exercise, meditation, yoga, etc. that can help change your body and help heal
And the list goes on…
Do the easiest thing first — make it a daily habit or ritual, then add another.
The goal is to create a naturally healthy life with healthy habits.
Acknowledge and accept your emotional reactions to life’s circumstances and events. You don’t have to be angry when someone cuts you off in traffic — you can just let it go. The first time is the hardest. The next time is ten percent easier. The third time is 20 percent easier until at last you’ll find that people just quit cutting you off on your daily commute. Because if they do, you don’t even notice, you’re too busy being naturally healthy in your body mind and spirit.
Just do one thing to get you on the path to natural health. What can you do this week, today, now? Just do it.
